From the Principal

Mr Justin Beckett

It was a privilege to participate in the two Speech Day and Annual Prize-giving events on Wednesday. We would like to congratulate every student who won an award.

Wednesday also signified the end of an era at our Wodonga Campus as we officially closed our Early Learning Centre, Little Tackers.

There are many things that we could celebrate about 2019 but the one that makes the biggest difference is the quality of our teachers and Trinity staff team. We are fortunate to attract many of the best educators in the region.

May you and your family have a joyful and rich Christmas. May you share in the fullness of God’s love for you and your family through the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus. We wish you a safe and enjoyable break, and look forward to welcoming you back in the New Year.

Speech Day and Annual Prize-giving

Congratulations to all the Prize Winners who were recognised on Wednesday at our Speech Day and Annual Prize-giving.

Staff comings and goings

The last week of school is an emotional time when we farewell some members of staff – people moving off to other places and new horizons. There are a number of staff movements at the end of this year and we wish to pass on our farewell and best wishes to the following people:

Greg Davis (started at Trinity in 2009). Business Manager. Greg has overseen the building infrastructure of the College from a portable building in the middle of a paddock to a College with many multi-million dollar buildings. He has navigated the College through tricky financial times and leaves it in a strong financial position.

Margaret Cochrane (started at Trinity in 2007). Risk and Compliance Officer (formerly Canteen Manager). Margaret has been a generous and dedicated member of staff for many years. We are grateful for her contribution to Trinity and we wish her well for the future.

Kate Millan (started 2008). Kate is leaving Trinity to commence a new role at Good Shepherd Catholic College, Mt Isa. Kate has made a great contribution to the lives of many Trinity students and staff members; she will not be forgotten.

Janine Haymes (started 2011). Janine is leaving Trinity to commence a role at the Australian International School Hong Kong. A talented teacher and inspiring leader across a range of portfolios, Janine has made an outstanding contribution to the College.

Tracy Iliff (started 2012). Tracy has made a great contribution to Trinity in the role of Director of the ELC at Little Tackers at our Wodonga Campus. Tracy is well regarded by students, staff and parents. She finishes at Trinity at the end of this year to pursue other opportunities; we wish her the very best.

Louise McLellan (started 2013). Louise has served the College as an Advanced Child Care Worker and Coordinator of After School Care at Little Tackers. With Little Tackers closing at the end of this year, Louise has a new and different role elsewhere that commences in 2020. We wish to thank Louise for her care for students and their families over many years and especially for her leadership in the final months of Little Tackers.

Katia Bertazzo (started 2019) will be leaving Trinity at the end of this year. We have enjoyed Katia’s passion for Science and her dedication and care for students. Katia has expressed a desire for a different life balance next year; to pursue other opportunities and to care for members of her family. We wish Katia well in her future endeavours and we trust that her unparalleled knowledge of Chemistry will continue to inspire future chemists and scientists for years to come.

Geoffrey Guy (started 2019) will finish his contract at Trinity at the end of this year. It has been a pleasure to have him on staff this year; we hope he will keep in touch with us in the future.

Jan Suchomel (started 2019) will finish his contract at Trinity at the end of this year. We are grateful for Jan’s contribution to the Languages Department this year and also for his involvement in the wider life of the College.

Claire Rogers (started 2019) will conclude her contract at Trinity at the end of this year. Claire has been a keen contributor to the College; we will miss her passion for French and genuine care for the students.

Heather Davis (started 2019) will conclude her contract at Trinity at the end of this year. Heather has been a great help to the College this year; teaching a Year 11 French class to a high standard. We wish Heather the very best in her future endeavours.

Sarah McDiarmid (started 2019) will be finishing at the end of this year. Sarah has served as a Lab Technician Assistant and as an Assistant in the Performing Arts. She has made a wonderful contribution to the College this year and heads to Melbourne in 2020 to commence her university studies.

Vashti Muller (started 2019) will be finishing at the end of this year in her role of Sports Administration. Vashti has made a significant contribution to the running of sports and PDHPE in the College. Vashti will move to Melbourne next year to commence her university studies.

Ben Wright (started 2019) will be finishing at the end of this year. Ben has served as a member of the IT Team and as Helpdesk in the Library this year. We wish Ben the very best for the next chapter as he pursues work and study.

There are a few people commencing maternity leave or leaving to have a baby, some this week and some in Term 1, 2020:

Sarah Culligan commences her maternity leave from the end of this week.

Kerrie Wheeler will commence maternity leave in mid-late February next year.

Emily Spargo has a baby on the way and is expected to leave at the end of Term 1, 2020.

Marnie Morey is expecting a baby in May 2020. We expect that Marie will leave us at around the end of Term 1, 2020.
