Out of School Hours Care is self-funded. A fee must be charged for every child in care and cannot be waived for any reason. Childcare cash rebate receipts are also available from the Coordinator.
Fees are calculated on a fortnightly basis and invoices are sent home in the mail. These fees then have another fortnight to be paid, either by BPay, Direct Debit or directly at the College Office by cash or cheque. Matters of non-payment may result in exclusion from the program
To arrange for your child to attend the OOSH program, please complete an enrolment form, available from the front office or from the Out of School Hours Care staff directly. If your child is NOT going to attend on any day that they are enrolled, please phone 0432 887 637. A message can be left on the voice-mail at any time or a text message may be sent to the above number. A cancellation fee will apply if 24 hours notice is not given.
• To provide children with the opportunity to interact in a safe environment with their peers.
• To provide a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere in which children can participate in activities relevant to their needs.
• To provide an environment which fosters open communication between participating children and Out Of School Hours Care staff.
• To provide a supportive and relaxing home like environment in which the children are able to attend to homework.
• To generate a range of recreational play activities which meet the individual needs of primary aged children.
• To ensure that all activities are conducted under supervision within National standards guidelines and in an environment which ensures the safety and well being of all participants.
The program runs from 3.10 to 6.00 pm on school days during terms. Children must go directly to OOSH when school concludes, or immediately at the end of school approved activities, such as Active After School Sports program or other co-curricular programs (please let the Coordinator know if this is the case). It is the child’s responsibility to report to the program on time.
The OOSH staff will sign children in to the program on arrival. Parents are required to sign their child/children out by 6.00pm. Each child must be collected from the program by a parent/guardian or other adult authorised to collect the child.
If parents suspect they will be late for pick up, they are required to contact another person nominated on their child’s registration form and have them collect the child/children.
When a child is not picked up on time, the Coordinator may take the following action:
Ring parents/guardians, ring emergency contacts.
A late fee of $1.00 per minute, per child applies.
OOSH staff are trained in First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis management. They will administer First Aid when necessary.
In the case of serious illness or injury, an ambulance will be called. At these times, attempts will be made to contact the child’s parent/guardian to inform them of the emergency and the action being taken.
Enrolment forms are available from the College office, from the OOSH staff or on the College website.
A child may not attend the program unless an enrolment form has been completed. On signing the enrolment form, parents are agreeing to adhere to the obligations outlined in this summary.
The enrolment form is a legal requirement and also assists OOSH staff to tailor a program that suits each child and their individual hobbies and interests.
A nutritious afternoon tea is prepared daily for all OOSH participants. Should your child have specific dietary requirements, we ask you to discuss these with the OOSH Coordinator.
