Casual Relief Teaching

The role 

A Casual Relief Teacher (CRT) will have similar responsibilities to a Teacher. They will have the qualifications and experience to deliver curriculum material provided for a class, facilitate a positive learning environment and will provide a duty of care to students in the absence of the regular Teacher. CRTs are engaged throughout the year on a casual basis to cover teacher absences.  The length of engagement may range from half a day through to periods up to 4 weeks, depending on the absence to be covered. 

Responsibilities and duties  

The key responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to):  

  • Ability to deliver curriculum material to students, as provided by the absent Teacher 
  • Provide a duty of care for students whilst the regular Teacher is absent 
  • Create a learning environment that fosters a love of learning, encouraging each student to engage in the learning process 
  • Ensure standards in learning and behaviour are maintained by students both inside and outside the classroom 
  • Demonstrate the ability to work within and contribute effectively to a team 
  • Support the College’s mission, vision and values 
  • Undertake yard duty and other supervision duties as required 

Qualifications  

  • Relevant Teaching Qualification 
  • Registration with NESA
  • First Aid Certificate

If you are interested in working as a CRT at Trinity Anglican College, the first step is to book and attend a College tour. This is an opportunity to explore our campus, gain an understanding of our learning environment, and experience our College community firsthand.

Following your tour, you will be invited to complete a virtual interview as part of our recruitment process. Once your interview is complete, we will contact you to commence the onboarding process. As part of your onboarding, you will be introduced to key staff and provided with the information you need to work confidently at the College, including our policies, procedures and expectations.
