Year 7 - 2027

Starting Year 7 is an exciting and important milestone in a student’s education. At Trinity, we are committed to ensuring every student feels known, supported and confident as they begin their Senior School journey.

Our Year 7 program is designed to provide a strong academic foundation while helping students develop independence, build friendships and discover new interests. With the support of our dedicated teachers, House system and pastoral care structure, students quickly feel part of the Senior School community.

We understand that transitioning to a new stage of schooling can feel both exciting and challenging. That is why we place a strong focus on connection, wellbeing and belonging from the very first day.

A smooth transition to Senior School

Our structured transition program ensures students feel prepared and supported as they move into Year 7.

Throughout Year 6 and the lead-up to Year 7, students and families are invited to participate in a range of activities designed to build confidence and familiarity with Senior School life. These include information evenings, experience days and opportunities to meet key staff and students.

In the opening weeks of Year 7, students take part in several experiences that help them connect with their peers and settle into their new environment.

One of the most significant moments is the Class of 2032 Pin Presentation, where students are formally welcomed into the Senior School and presented with their cohort pin – a symbol of belonging and the shared journey they will undertake together.

Students also take part in:

  • Year 7 Camp, strengthening friendships and building resilience
  • River Safety Program, developing practical skills and confidence in our unique local environment
  • Swimming Carnival, their first whole-school event filled with House spirit and participation

These experiences help students build relationships, develop independence and feel confident in their new surroundings.

Pastoral Care and Belonging

Every Year 7 student becomes part of one of our six House groups, providing a strong sense of connection and belonging from the start of their Senior School journey.

Each student is supported by a Head of House and House Mentor who work closely with families to ensure students feel supported academically, socially and emotionally.

Our pastoral care approach ensures that every student is known as an individual and encouraged to grow in confidence and character.

Opportunities beyond the classroom

Life at Trinity extends well beyond the classroom. Year 7 students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of sport, performing arts, leadership and co-curricular activities.

These opportunities allow students to discover new passions, develop confidence and build lasting friendships within the school community
